Hey, guys!!! Long time, no write! I know, I know, but grad school is a bummer. All summer toiling away has made DianaDishes a dull girl. I will admit that I haven't been following the NFL as closely as I have my Educational Psychology text or Foundations of Educations or Common Core Standards...Anyway, I digress...
It has been a bit of a downer when it comes to this NFL season. Who would have thought that Vince Young (incompetence?), Shawne Merriman (injuries), Chad Johnson (basketball wife), Lofa Tatupu (injuries), and Kellen Winslow (dishonorable discharge) would be joining the ranks of the unemployed? Then, the news that I knew was coming someday, but I didn't really want to believe. My favorite, Mr. Tony Gonzalez, says that he is 95% certain that he is going to retire at the end of the year. Could it really be possible that I could lose Chipper Jones and Tony Gonzalez at the end of the year? Say it ain't so...
There a few people out there who are predicting some good things for my Kansas City Chiefs. Matt Cassel is getting another chance to make a better impression, and this year he has his weapons, Tony Moeaki and Jamaal Charles back. Dwayne Bowe is back in the fold. Romeo Crennel has the job as head coach, and he is getting Tamba Hali (although he is going to miss the first game due to a suspension by the league), Derrick Johnson, and Eric Berry. If everyone can stay healthy, I don't see why the Chiefs can't wreck a little havoc on the AFC West.
Well, enough of that let's just get to the picks shall we...I really have no rhyme or reason for my choices. I haven't read anything, except Kate Chopin's The Awakening which aside from being totally boring will not help me with my picks in the least. Ah, well, we will know by Thanksgiving that I'm completely out of my realm, but here we go...
AFC East-New England Patriots
AFC South-Houston Texans
AFC North-Baltimore Ravens
AFC West-Kansas City Chiefs
Wildcards-Pittsburgh, Denver
AFC Champion-Houston Texans
NFC East-New York Giants

Washington Redskins at New Orleans Saints-New Orleans (even without Sean Payton, do your job Jimmy Graham!!)
Jacksonville Jaguars at Minnesota Vikings-Minnesota

Miami Dolphins at Houston Texans-Houston
San Francisco 49ers at Green Bay Packers-San Francisco

Well, Love 'em or hate 'em, them's m'picks...Lady Katie is a calling...gotta see what old Edna is up to. Until next time, “Everything tells me that I am about to make a wrong decision, but
making mistakes is just part of life.”

Cowboys must crush the giants they have too nobody cares after this game what happens. haha (Your favorite Cowboy fan)
ReplyDeleteI wish you could have joined the radio show tonight. I was taking predictions on the upcoming seasons. I think GB and NE will make it back. As much as I'd like to go with another couple, I can't justify going out on a limb and picking anyone else.
ReplyDeleteAs for my Boys, I think they're looking at another 8-8 season. That December schedule, once again, is brutal! I think the matchmakers get a kick out of that. And, they're one of two teams that start the season with two road games, so it's an uphill battle for a team that hasn't proven to be mentality tough.
