I believe this opening of Sasha listening to music is her death scene.  I don't think she is going to make it to the next season.  Awwww...a flashback to Abraham. Just like when Tyrese died. He saw all the one's he lost when he died. Negan's back. He still thinks Sasha will help him get Rick back in check. Really, smiley face pancake Negan.

Back to Alexandria. Dwight and Rick. Tara is all in Dwight's face about Denise.  Daryl wants to kill Dwight now. Yes, Dwight, Daryl wants to kill you. Tara wants to kill you, too. See, Daryl is not a murderer. Dwight is straight plotting, but I don't trust this guy as far as I can throw him. If he is lying, I'm going to kill him real slow. Tara is going to get herself killed being foolish. Calm down. Dwight will get what's coming to him.

At least Sasha is getting better music than Daryl. Negan wants them to stand down and then kill three of them with Lucille. Just one person has to die. Man, I hate Negan. These flashbacks are killing me slowly. Jesus and Mggie plotting for Hillside, and no one has checked on Gregory. Wait, is that Judith? What is going on with Morgan? Carol armed, Shiva ready to pounce, and now Zeke convincing Morgan to get with the program. Zeke with that Tiger man...

TOO MANY COMMERCIALS!!!!!!!

Junkyard crew rolling in on bikes and dump trucks...Jadis, really? they are laying down the trap. Abraham and his quips, oh how I missed him. Eugene escorting Sasha. These Sasha flashbacks. Wait, they are going in being led by Eugene. Rosita is looking like, can I just shoot him now. What just happened?  The bomb didn't go off. Man, the junk yard people turned. this like watching the WWE. Eff you Jadis and Dwight!!!! Freaking non-talking right junkyard hobos.

Negan, just makes me sick. I just can't get this dude.  Eugene turned on them, what did you expect Negan?  They got Sasha in a coffin? Man, I freaking hate Negan. You are not getting Daryl back. Negan is the worse stand up comedian. Y'all the suspense is killing me, and I think Sasha took the pill in the coffin.  These flashbacks with Abraham makes me miss what could have been.  Yeah, Sasha took the pill. She sacrificed herself for everybody. Carl is a BA with that gun. Sasha got one of the Saviors. This heifer just shot Rick!!!! And pushed him off the lookout!!!! I can't right now...Somebody has to kill Jadis. I need Carol to take out Jadis. C'mon, Michonne, don't let trashheap beat you. Man, they got Carl. Michonne finally took down Trashheap. Filthy garbage people what did they trade twelve of?  He can't kill Carl.  Not Carl...

Was that Michonne? That can't be Michonne. Nooooooo, not Michonne. Rick is good at talking crap man.  You are all already, dead. Rick ain't playing. There ya go Shiva. Alexandria will not fall. Is the tiger?  Maggie and Hilltop!!!!! Negan cannot believe what is happening. Shiva is eating some people. Who knew Zeke could pop caps. Warzone. Who is watching Judith? Negan rolling out flipping everybody off.  Trash-heap fell off the building. Michonne is Alive!!!!!

Negan is looking at Eugene, he knows that something hinky happened with Sasha. They knnow Sasha killed herself. Jesus took down walker. Maggie delivered the blow. Morgan and Carol side-by-side.  Michonne and Rosita healing. Dwight left the figure. The voice-over by Maggie at the end where she said they were following Glenn's lead. All the sobs. This was a great episode!!!!  It has been a great season, although we lost some great characters, the war has just begun.  Where is Gregory?  Will Oceanside join up? So many questions. Sigh...

See you in OCTOBER!!!!

Dead Viewing: Season 7, Episode 15-"Something They Need"

**WARNING***

***There will be spoilers.***
***This is not a review. It is just my thoughts as I'm watching the show.***

***I update during commercials.***

Welcome back, everybody!!! Well, we will find out this week (hopefully) what happened to Sasha and Rosita after their poorly thought out suicide mission. Our Alexandrians are on their way to Oceanside to try to draw the women into the fight.  We see them preparing what looks like a trap.  Maggie and the Hillside people are planting vegetables in their garden. Back to Sanctuary, Sasha has been taken hostage after her foolhardy attempt to kill Negan. This is an uber-creepy member of the Saviors. Wow!!! Sasha just head-butted the hell out of this rapey-faced dude.

Negan is upset with rapey dude. Yikes, dude just got knifed to the neck up close and personal by Negan. He finally recognized Sasha. Negan and his quotes. She just called Rick, Negan's bitch. He is asking her to join his army. Rapey-Davey can still turn. Negan is a mess. I hate him, but at the same time. And they are not monsters?!! WTF????? dude, seriously...

Eugene...This dude will do anything to save himself. Really, the pillow, Eugene. Pig-sticker. This dude is a hot-mess.  The greatest 37 minutes of his life was driving the RV into the sunset. Sasha full on wanted to stab Eugene for trying to make her join the army.  Why hasn't she already stabbed that dead dude? Plus, you are gonna make her sleep in the room with the dead dude?  Swarmy Gregory, is back. Ugh, I hate this guy. He is such a crook. He is never some one I would trust to watch my back. He seriously contemplated stabbing Maggie. Man, Gregory is hopeless. Seriously, the pregnant lady has to save you from a walker, Greogory? Back to Oceanside. Tara sneaking up on the ladies. Well, Tonya is tripping with this gun. She needs to listen to reason. Even her people are saying she should fight. Cindy knock-out grandma. Uh-oh, a gang of walkers. Yuck, these are Pirates of the Caribbean walkers. Tonya is so stubborn. If Tara found her, then, the Saviors can find you. Oceanside has some good warriors. She needs to listen to Rick.

Sasha has killed zombie Davey. She is pretending to join Negan. He still doesn't trust Sasha. Uh-oh, Negan knows Rick is up to no good. He is going to use Sasha to try to convince Rick that this challenge is a bad idea.  What is Gregory up to now? Where is Gregory getting this guy to drive him? Is he going to snitch on Maggie and the Hilltop?  Sasha is going to kill herself to keep Negan from using her to hurt her friends. Cindy wants to join up. Rachel gets a middle finger salute from Tara. She really can't stand that kid.

Eugene just gave Sasha the pill he made to give those girls to kill Negan. He told her that he didn't want her to take it. Damn, Rosita captured Dwight and has him in the jail cell.  Daryl is ready to kill him, though. Dwight claiming he wants to help. Rick has made him get on his knees. Boy, the season finale is going to be off the chain. Shiva is coming out to play too!!!!??? Now, it's time for Into the Badlands.

***This is not a review. It is just my thoughts as I'm watching the show.***

***I update during commercials.***

Welcome back, everybody!! Tonight might be the night we lose some significant characters.  Last week, we lost Benjamin and Richard.  This week, Sasha and Rosita are about to embark on a what appears to be a suicide mission. Sasha is getting ready for the mission, and we see awwwww little Glenn.  Feels like everybody is saying goodbye.

Daryl still can't really talk to Maggie because he feels so guilty about Glenn.  Rosita's back.  Oh so, this is the lead up to what happened at the end of last week's episode. Jesus is trying to change Sasha's mind. Rosita is so freaking annoying, and now, she has dragged Sasha into her foolish trip.  Enid for once is right telling Maggie, because this can cause so many problems.  Man, the Saviors are coming, and they have to hide Maggie and Daryl, which puts shady Gregory in Charge.  Sasha and Rosita made it out, while Daryl and Maggie are hiding in the basement. Meanwhile Simon is interrogating Gregory.

(FYI, I'm so excited for the new season of Into the Badlands)

All these years and they have never passed one significant car lot. Rosita is sooooooooooooooooooooo annoying. Ugh...These Saviors.  They just got Enid's knife, as she was trying to keep them out of the basement.  Didn't know that the Saviors former doctor was the Hilltop's doctor were brothers.  I really hate Gregory.  Now, they are taking the Hilltop doctor to replace his dearly departed and barbequed brother.  Maggie had to stop Daryl from killing that Savior. Awwww, I can't take Daryl crying as he apologizes to Maggie. He still feels guilty, even though Maggie is telling him it's not his fault. She is telling him that he and Glenn were some of the good things in this world, and she needs him to help beat the Saviors. She needs him to help her win.  Annnnnnnnnd we are back to the suicide mission. Eugene walking the gate like he's in charge. Sasha looks like she wanted to cap him. They are tying knots waiting for Negan.  Roseta telling how she learned all of her tricks from all of her exes. She pretended she needed help to find out all the things they knew how to do. Abraham saw her for what she really was--quite capable.

I'm starting to feel for Rosita. She was happy he was happy. Sasha is mad that Abraham didn't get a chance to fight. Well, glad they made up now that they are about to die. They just realized that they have doctor Carson, and there is Negan.  Eugene realizes that he may not the only doctor now, but he has given them intel about Negan, as well as, the level to which he is now kissing Negan's behind.  The girls aren't going to be able to take the outside shot so now they are going in.

There are only five minutes, must we go back to Gregory and the Hilltop. Gregory is threatening Jesus. Gregory this is not going to work out well for you.  They just realized that Rosita and Sasha are gone. Eugene has turned full Negan.  Rosita and Sasha are going in and Eugene is ahead of them. Sasha locked Rosita out, and went in alone.  Is that Dwight or Daryl in the shadows. Is Gregory really sneaking up on Maggie with a knife?  Only two episodes left. UGH!!!! Is Sasha dead?  I think she is or will be shortly.

Dead Viewing: Season 7, Episode 13: Bury Me Here"

**WARNING***
***You may want to stop here.***
***There will be spoilers.***
***This is not a review. It is just my thoughts as I'm watching the show.***
***I update during commercials.***

Welcome back, everybody!!! Sorry that I have missed the last two episodes, but sometimes life gets in the way of blogging.  I will say this about 11 and 12.  I did not care too much for the Eugene episode "Hostiles and Calamities," but I did enjoy "Say Yes" episode with Rick and Michonne, even with the bad decisions and the fake deer...FYI, I am getting more than a little sick of Rosita, and now she is dragging Sasha into her madness. Rosita is turning into Andrea who turned into Lori who made us all sick.

Tonight, I believe that we finally get to see Carol back in action.  The Kingdom is taking the Saviors only a cantaloupe? I'm confused? I hope Cut-Throat Carol is back tonight.  Morgan is still mad about his stick. Carol is the most creative killer on the show.  Just tell her the truth Morgan, dang man.  What is Richard up to? Nabila is smart. Smart enough not to mess with the Tiger.  Bad news about your garden Zeke. The cantaloupes have me suspicious. They are watching Benjamin take care of his brother. Jerry loves his cobbler. I bet Richard did this. Now, I know Richard did this and dug this grave. Morgan needs to kill old boy that took his stick. I freaking hate the Saviors. These Saviors are the most annoying in the bunch. Someone took a melon. Now, someone has to die. Richard is willing to sacrifice himself, but WTH!!!!!!!

This reject from the Spin Doctors member of the Saviors who stole Morgan's stick needs to die. They shot Benjamin for one melon. Richard is now regretting what he has done. He really thought they would kill him.  Now, they have killed Benjamin. Morgan has snapped again. Morgan has figured out that is was Richard who did this. Richard confessing to Morgan, but Morgan still looks like he is ready to pop a cap. Whoa. He to Morgan he has to kill, or he might as well kill himself. This is why there was only one melon at the beginning of the show.

Well, Gavin is punishing Spin Doctor. What the hell, MORGAN Is killing Richard!!!!! Morgan has done lost it y'all. He just called Benjamin, Duane. Well, Morgan just went back to Clear city Morgan. Morgan has taken out Richard, but he fails to realize they would not change.

Now, Morgan is at Carol's. Carol finally knows the truth. Carlo has returned to the kingdom, and they are going to join the fight!!!! Morgan has moved into the cabin. He is wheedling the staff I bet into a spear.

Oh, boy...See you guys next week!! We'll see how well Sasha and Rosita's suicide mission works out.

Dead Viewing-Season 7, Episode 10 "New Best Friends"

***WARNING***
***You may want to stop here.***
***There will be spoilers.***
***This is not a review. It is just my thoughts as I'm watching the show.***
***I update during commercials.***

Welcome back, everybody!  I just went back to watch some parts of last week's episode that I missed because of the Grammy's.  FYI, while Bruno Mars and Adele both did a great job with their tributes, I frankly thought both the George Michael and Prince tributes were lacking. One song each? That's wack, man...and no, I'm not getting involved with the Beyonce vs. Adele thing. I only heard one song from each album, so I have no dogs in that fight...

I finally saw the Rick and Michonne stunt with the cars, which was very awesome. Here's hoping King Ezekiel changes his mind tonight, and the people who surrounded Rick and the crew are anti-Saviors as well. I need less Trevor and more Jerry. The look on Daryl's face was "Y'all really gonna leave me with this wack job?"

Diane comes from Diana the Roman goddess of the hunt, appropriate.  More Jerry, y'all, More Jerry. Jerry is becoming one of my favorite characters. This stringy haired blonde savior is beginning to work both mine and Richard's nerves. Morgan fighting with the stick. Oh, the blonde's name is Jared. Morgan is mad now. They took his stick. See, Morgan you can't bargain with idiots.  Ezekiel, lay off of Jerry.

Daryl does not mince words. Daryl is right about Carol. She would be ready to start a rampage if she knew about Glenn and Abraham.  Richard just gave Daryl his favorite weapon--the crossbow.  Daryl is about to do some major a** kicking. Richard is setting Carol up? So, Richard wants to ambush the Saviors, but lead them to Carol. Dude is out of his mind.  I agree with him, but dude not Carol.  Richard, Daryl is not playing. Carol better not get a hangnail. I need a Carol/Daryl reunion.  Just go beat the crap out of Morgan and find out where she is.

Rick just assumes they have Gabriel? They had the boat. They took back what Rick's group took from them, and they've got Gabriel.  Wait a minute, Gabriel just grew a pair. the junkyard people are still hella rude. Okay, TWD, work on your green screen a bit. The Junkyard people are hella off...Did the Junkyard queen just push Rick off the trash mountain?

She just put Rick in a hole. What the Hell kind of Walker is this? This Walker from Sauron's army better not hurt Rick. Rick might gone lose that hand. I'm glad Rick defeated the LOTR Walker. They were wanting what was on the boat. These are some weirdos, led by Jadeis.

Awwwwww, Daryl and Carol reunion!!!!!!! Jesus took us to the kingdom, and Morgan said that you left. Why'd you, go? Tearing up, man. Why is Rosita being such a prick these days? Rick straight jacked one of their sculptures.

Carol explaining why she could not go back. She's about find out who the Saviors killed.  Go ahead and tell her Daryl. Nooooo, Daryl, tell her the truth. C'mon on Daryl, don't lie to her about Glenn, especially not Glenn. Y'all think Daryl is gonna let Richard go through with the plan, because Carol is too broken? Daryl won't stay in the Kingdom headed back to Hilltop. Look forward to seeing you next week. Looks like we will be seeing a lot of the Saviors next week.

Dead Viewing-Season 7, Episode 9 "Rock in the Road"

***WARNING***
***You may want to stop here.***
***There will be spoilers.***
***This is not a review. It is just my thoughts as I'm watching the show.***
***I update during commercials.***

Welcome back, everybody!!!! It has been a looooooooong hiatus, but we made it, and just in time for Valentine's Day, The Walking Dead has returned to fill my heart with fear for my favorite characters and love for anything that frustrates Negan. Our faithful posse reconnected at the end of the last episode at the Hilltop, and I for one cannot wait to see the union of the camps.

I'm always a little leery when Gabriel is on watch. Frankly, I'm surprised that he is still with us.  What is Gabriel doing? So, Gabriel just going to leave?  What is going on? Gregory is such a tool. He insists on not calling Maggie. Can we just kill Gregory and be done? Gregory's peeps are not even listening to him anymore.  Finally, they are headed to the Kingdom.

Bringing in the Kingdom, Richard is ready, but the rest? Carl stays packing. The Kingdom is already in training. Morgan reuniting with everyone, but they now have to tell them the bad news. Carol is gone again?  Jerry. Boy, do I love that guy. They're all like, this dude really has a tiger! Ezekiel is not having it. Morgan, can't believe the list of people dead at the hand of Negan.  Richard is speaking out against the Ezekiel. Morgan is still on this capturing people.

Rick telling the rock in the road story trying to convince. I'm glad Rick is finally back.  Carol just pops up out of no where.  Threatening the Kingdom kid Benjamin that Morgan was training.  I need Carol to break out of this funk.  Benjamin saying yes to Rick. They train everybody at the Kingdom, even the handicap. Ezekiel is so wrong for saying no. Rosita still hating on Sasha. Rosita learning the disarming from Abraham. this is the team we know and love, stealing from explosives from the saviors.  Rick. I love when my man is in full control! I missed the great stunt from Michonne and Rick watching the Grammys.  NOOOOOOOOO...Rick and Michonne.

Man, I hate Trevor and the Saviors.  They have come to kill Daryl? He ain't there though.  I really hate the Saviors.  Now, they are finding out about Gabriel leaving and taking the supplies. So, they know where Gabriel is on the boat, but how did he know. What is this place? Who are these people? What have our guys gotten themselves into?  Why is Rick smiling? I'm so curious about this Lord of the Rings walker. See you next week!!! Sorry about the mishap!!!

Super Bowl Sunday: A Letter to the Atlanta Falcons

Hey everybody!!! Sorry, I missed the Conference Championships and the Pro Bowl, but I was still in deep mourning after the way my Chiefs played in the divisional game. Today is Super Bowl Sunday and the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons are playing in Houston. I don't really care for the Patriots, and I feel like I need to address the Falcons.

Dear Atlanta Falcons,

How are you guys?  It has been a fabulous year for the Dirty Birds.  Congratulations to you, Matt Ryan, on winning league MVP.  Your former favorite target Tony Gonzalez has been calling it for weeks.  Aside:  Tony Gonzalez was on Lip Sync Battle this week. I think I'm going to just leave it at Ray Lewis won. We know why, but this blog is not for dissing Tony Gonzalez.

Atlanta, I am a Braves fan, and have been for almost 30 years. I've seen some bad sports teams in the ATL.  I've never been a Falcons fan, but there have been moment when I rooted for you guys.  When Deion Sanders, Brian Jordan, and Andre Rison were Falcons, I rooted for you.  When Bobby Hebert was your quarterback, I rooted for you. I rooted for you when Morton Anderson was your kicker. For FIVE straight years, I rooted for you guys to help get my favorite all time player, Tony Gonzalez, a Super Bowl ring.  I risked life and limb twice by entering the Super Dome in a Falcons jersey to root for you guys against the Saints.

Now, I know I have been throwing a lot of shade in your general direction the last few years since Tony Gonzalez has retired. I have sent a lot of hate, and I have stated that I hoped all bad things happened to the Falcons after that last craptastic season you guys made Tony a part of. I admit this. I accept responsibility for my actions.

Falcons, my Chiefs are once again at home, and there is no one left for me to root for, so I'm putting all my faith in you. I'm pretty sure Chiefs Kingdom is rooting for you. I'm sure most of the Nation is rooting for you, I know that the last 7 MVPS have lost the Super Bowl, I know the Falcons have never won a Super Bowl. I know that the last several teams who have worn white have won the Super Bowl, and the Pats are wearing white. I know what Tom Brady is capable of, but he is not unbeatable. So, Atlanta, I am begging and pleading, and praying that you guys RISE UP like the rebels and defeat the Empire. Defeat the Emperor and Darth Vader. Luke, I mean, Matt, Tony G. has put all his faith in you, and he has been singing your praises for years.  Do for Tony and all the other Falcons who have never had an opportunity to taste the sweet victory of a Super Bowl.  If for no one else, please win it for me. I cannot take months of the smugness of Tom Brady if he wins. Do it for America, Atlanta!!
We are all rooting for you!!!!!

Sincerely,
Diana Dishes

If you haven't guessed it, I'm picking the Falcons for Super Bowl 51!!!!

Have a great Super Bowl Sunday!!! I'll be back next week with Dead Viewing and the return of The Walking Dead!  Until next time, "Laissez les bons temps rouler!!!!"

Divisional Playoffs 2017

Welcome back, everybody!!! Hope you are enjoying your weekend!!! It's is time for the Divisional Playoffs!!!

Last weekend, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Green Bay, and Houston won their Wild Card matches to advance to the Divisional round. Now, we are eight teams away from the Super Bowl, and while their Super Bowl dreams are still alive many NFL teams are at home preparing for next year. Two will begin their new seasons in a home.  The San Diego Chargers officially became the Los Angeles Chargers this week, and the Oakland Raiders are on the verge of filing paper work to make Las Vegas their home.  Meanwhile, the NFL coaching vacancies are starting to fill. Jacksonville made Doug Marrone their official coach and hired Tom Coughlin as president of football operations.  The Denver Broncos hired Vance Joseph away from the Miami Dolphins.  After much speculation, including a possible trade for New Orleans head coach Sean Payton, the Los Angeles Rams made 30-year-old Sean McVay the youngest coach after he spent three seasons as the offensive coordinator with the Washington Redskins. Finally, Anthony Lynn left the East Coast for the West Coast to become head coach of the newly minted Los Angeles Chargers.

Well, to the picks. Last week, I was a perfect 3-0, but I expect no perfection this week.

Saturday, January 14, 2017
Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons (4:35 pm EST on FOX):  Seattle.  I really have no faith in the Falcons. I want to pick them to win because they should win. They don't have a great defense, but Matt Ryan has been playing out of his mind this year. Russell Wilson's team has the better defense. That said, I just can't trust the Falcons.  They are like my Braves. They get riiiiiiiiiight there and find a way to lose. Remember, Tony Gonzalez wide open three years ago?  Remember, the 2 point game against New York?  That's what I'm saying.

Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots (8:15 pm EST on CBS):  New England.  I'm not going to spend a great deal of time here. We are all thinking it. IT is a forgone conclusion. Tom Brady wants revenge after his four game suspension...Blah-blah-blah, MVP, blah, blah, blah, Bill Belichick, yada-yada. Houston has Brock Osweiler who had a meh game over a meh Raiders team. I wish the Texans the best, but yeah, Brady should win this...easily...

Sunday, January 15, 2017
Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys (4:40 pm EST on FOX):  Green Bay.  Yes, I know Prescott and Elliott have been balling out of control all year. Yes, I know that Tony Romo is ready just in case the rookie slips up, but the way Aaron Rodgers has been playing the last few weeks has me thinking of the Giants from a few years back who ran the table then beat the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl.  The Cowboys should win, but I'm sticking with the Packers.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Kansas City Chiefs (8:20 pm EST on NBC):  Kansas City.  This was supposed to be the first game on Sunday, but due to the ice storm that is headed Kansas City's way, the NFL made the move change the time of the game from 1:20 pm to 8:20 pm.  This should be the coldest game of the weekend, and these teams really don't like each other.  The Pittsburgh Steelers have had the upper hand on the Chiefs for the last few meetings including the 43-14 beatdown earlier this year, a game James Harrison claims to not remember playing. I did not want my team to play the Steelers.  There, I said it.  My brain tells me this is the time of the year when Ben Roethelisberger plays his best and my Chiefs, much like the Falcons, turn into the Atlanta Braves. Yet, I soooooooo want this to be the year for the Chiefs. My brain tells me that Pittsburgh is going to win, but my heart is with the Chiefs, so that's my pick, and I'm sticking to it.

Enjoy your games this week!!! Until next time, in Honor of Dr. King's Birthday on Sunday, “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”-Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Wildcard Weekend 2017

Hey, everybody!!!! Sorry I'm a little late with my picks, but with Fear The Ice Storm hitting our local area, I had completely forgotten about today's games.  Clearly, so did the Raiders who lost in the first game 14-27 to the Houston Texans.

Congratulations to my Kansas City Chiefs who via the Broncos win and Raider loss last week became the AFC West Champions for the first time since 2010!!!  Not only that, they received the #2 seed behind New England which means a bye this week and at least one game in the friendly confines of Arrowhead Stadium. They also prevented Antonio Gates from breaking Tony Gonzalez's touchdown record as well. Gates tied the record at 111 TDs, but was unable to capitalize on a late toss in his direction to put himself over the top. You guys, know it gives me nothing but pleasure that he has to wait until next year to hopefully get it. Pity...

Congratulations to the Green Bay Packers whose win over the Detroit Lions made them the NFC North Champions.

Sunday saw the usual see ya' wouldn't wanna be you from some NFL Teams.  The  49ers fired GM Trent Baalke before the game and coach Chip Kelly after the game.  Mike McCoy was relieved of duty after the Chargers lost to the Chiefs. The Broncos sent their coach Gary Kubiak out with a win as the decided to retire after the game. Although the Saints are exploring trade options for coach Sean Payton, Payton seems certain that he will still be on the Saints sideline next year.

So, this week the Patriots, Chiefs, Cowboys, and Falcons have a bye and are waiting for the results of Wildcard Weekend.  I finished the regular season 164-89 record.  Let's see how I do with the remaining games.

Saturday, January 7, 2017
Detroit Lions vs. Seattle Seahawks:  Seattle

Sunday, January 8, 2017
Miami Dolphins vs. Pittsburgh Steelers:  Pittsburgh
New York Giants vs. Green Bay Packers:  Green Bay (This game is the toughest to pick. I'm going with Green Bay, because they are really coming in hot, but this is time of year when Eli Manning starts to play like a mad genius.)

That's all, y'all!!! Until next week, Stay warm and remember, "We must become more comfortable with probability and uncertainty."-Nate Silver

NFL Week 17: Happy New Year?

Happy New Year, everybody!!!! May all your dreams and wishes come true in this new year!!! Cleveland won a game!!!! It is the last week of the season, and we are a few games away from having the playoff picture set.  The AFC has all of its teams in order, and it is a forgone conclusion that New England will retain the number one seed, but if New England loses and Oakland wins, Oakland will get home field throughout the playoffs. Oakland and Kansas City are currently fighting for the number 2 seed and the AFC West title.  Denver and San Diego can play spoilers though. Pittsburgh, Houston, and Miami are more or less set for the playoffs, but Miami could throw a wrench in New England's playoff plans.

The NFC side is a bit more complicated.  Dallas is set at the #1 seed with home field throughout the playoffs. Atlanta is currently the #2 seed and can clinch the #2 with a win.  Now, Seattle has a chance at #2 if Atlanta loses, and they win.  Green Bay and Detroit are fighting for the NFC North today, and one of them may end up at the house for the playoffs.  Washington and Tampa Bay still have a chance to make the playoffs, but Tampa Bay needs about a thousand dominoes to fall correctly for that to happen.  New York has clinched a berth and can prevent Washington from entering the playoff fray with a win today.

It's not all good news around the NFL this New Year's Day.  Some cities may be losing their teams, looking at you San Diego and Oakland. Other teams are just losing their coaches.  Buffalo fired head coach Rex Ryan and his twin brother Rob.  The Saints may be playing their last game under Sean Payton's tutelage.  Gary Kubiak is likely to step down today in Denver due to health issues.  There are a number of NFL coaches keeping their fingers crossed that their names will not end up on  pink slip tomorrow. Good luck, guys.

The Raiders are going to be without their starting quarterback Derek Carr for the near future as he broke his leg during last week's game. I hate Oakland, but I don't wish injuries on anyone. I prefer my team to beat them at their best, as they have, twice this year.  Marcus Mariota and Tyler Lockett also broke legs ending their seasons as well.  Good luck, gentleman!!

Did you see the Denver/Kansas City game on Christmas night?  Oh, man...Denver's defense, normally one of the best in the league, were...did they even get off the plane?  Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce had a night, both ripping off 70 yard and 80 yard TDs respectively.  Even, Alex Smith scored a touchdown in the game. But the pièce de résistance occurred in the waning minutes of the game, when the Chiefs brought in Dontari Poe for what most thought would be a run.  Poe instead lined up in shotgun formation and did a jump shot pass to Demetrius Harris for a touchdown. Andy Reid calls it the "Bloated Tebow Pass," but I call it the nail in Denver's coffin. Now, both teams from last year's Super Bowl have been eliminated from the playoffs.
Many fantasy leagues finished up their playoffs last week, including my two leagues.  Lucille Swings, my #1 team, spent most of the year in first place, but like the real NFL, any given Sunday, a team can be knocked from its top spot, as was the case with Lucille Swings.  Lucille swung and missed as I was upset by a forth place team.  122 points were not enough to overcome Brett's team (he put a lot of effort in that name), especially with Cam Newton and Larry Fitzgerald having lackluster days, and Spencer Ware leaving the game with a rib injury.  Brett's team had a field day thanks to Andrew Luck, Ezekiel Elliott, Le/Veon Bell, Doug Baldwin, and Jordy Nelson. Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce tried, but Lucille Swings ended the year in second place.  My dumpster fire team Lochte and Loaded surprisingly won the consolation bracket and finished the year in third place. No championships this year, but I'll take a 2nd and a 3rd place.

Last week, I had a pretty decent pick week, and had San Diego and Tennessee did their one job, it could have been better, but I'll take 11-4.  My current tally stands at 153-84. Let's see how I do on this final week of the season.

Sunday, January 1, 2017
Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals;  Baltimore
Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans:  Houston
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts:  Indianapolis
New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins:  New England
Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings:  Minnesota
Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets:  Buffalo (Reggie Bush needs at least 3 yards to prevent him from setting a dubious record today.  He currently has -3 yards on the season.)
Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles:  Dallas
Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers:  Pittsburgh
Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers:  Tampa Bay
Oakland Raiders vs. Denver Broncos:  Oakland (although for the first time in probably ever, I'm rooting for Denver.)
New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons:  Atlanta
Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Diego Chargers:  Kansas City (San Diego is playing for pride, but keep Antonio Gates out of the endzone. There is no need for him to break Tony Gonzalez's touchdown record today. NONE AT ALL!!!)
Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers:  Seattle
Arizona Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Rams:  Arizona
New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins:  New York
Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions:  Green Bay

That's it, guys! Enjoy your New Year's celebrations and all the games!!! Until next week, "Today is where your book begins, the rest is still unwritten."-Natasha Bedingfield
