Dead Viewing: Season 7, Episode 2-"The Well"

***WARNING***
***You may want to stop here.***
***There will be spoilers.***
***This is not a review. It is just my thoughts as I'm watching the show.***
***I update during commercials.***

I think I shared the same reactions as many of the fans above.  I thought Abraham would die, but man the swerve by killing Glenn, too. Well played, sadistic writers of The Walking Dead, well played. You guys are straight savages.  I love you and hate you at the same time, much like my feelings for that S.O.B. Negan.  Let's take a moment to pour one out for our lost homies--Abraham Ford and Glenn Rhee, our fallen soldiers from last week's devastating season premiere.

Back to it...

This is the Carol rescue episode. Man, Carol, where the heck are you going? They are trying to save your life and...who is this old lady you are following? Are you trying to get yourself killed?  Carol is suffering some major PTSD.  These are some straight up Renaissance warriors here. Armor and horses like the knights of the round table.  This is a pretty nice set-up that Carol and Morgan have come to-The Kingdom. The person in charge...King Ezekiel and his tiger Shiva. See, how the heck has he kept a tiger...never mind. Seven years into the z-poc and that tiger hasn't eaten you. Bruh...

King Ezekiel must have been a Shakespearean actor prior to the z-poc.  I think you are mad, bruh. Carol doesn't know what the crap is going on right now.  She is Alice right now.  She is really all WTF, right now.  Is Morgan falling for Carol right now?  They have pigs. Why do you want the pigs full of rot.  Are they poisoning the pigs for Negan's crew? Yep, I bet they are fattening the pigs up with tainted meat to sicken Negan's crew.  Ben may be the new Nicholas.

I want to go on record and say I'm not fond of Ezekiel's dreads. The Kingdom is really a place for all the nerds, theater geeks, and the like to seek refuge. Carol, of course, is stealing weapons and chocolate. They have cobbler at every meal?  Well, la-tee-dah...Carol is like, these people don't know crap about crap.  Yep, here are Negan's men. Yep, they are trying to poison make them sick. Ezekiel is not as crazy as he acts. I just need Daryl not to eat the bacon. I hate the Saviors. I'm going to cheer heartily when the Saviors are conquered. To fight or not to fight...that is the question, and how many of you slightly better Alexandrians are going to die. Well, Carol has dipped again.

Ezekiel has caught Carol on the prowl. Step Jerry. Y'all, I love Jerry. Ezekiel looks right through Carol's little lady act. Carol just called Ezekiel a joke to his face. People want someone to follow. It's human nature-King Ezekiel. He is the Rick of the group. He didn't want to be a leader, but he became one. He was a zookeeper. He saved Shiva. Theater dude...knew it! He's trying to tell Carol that all is not bad in the world. There has to be better. Embrace the contradiction. Go and not go...I'm not sure if Carol is buying it or not.

Carol leaves the Kingdom, but look who shows up at the door...Ezekiel. I think, ole Zeke has a think for the fair lady Carol. I'm just happy no one died this week. Until next week...

NFL Week 8: Living on a Prayer...

With all respects given to Bon Jovi, we are almost at the halfway point boys and girls, and other than the New England Patriots, does anyone really, really, really want to control their division?  Sorry, I lapsed into the Spice Girls for some odd reason...I cannot explain Miami beating Buffalo or NY Jets beating Baltimore, or Atlanta allowing San Diego to come back to win. Well, at least my Chiefs won. Yay!!!!

Speaking of the Chiefs, I want to send best wishes to former Chiefs (Browns and Chargers) coach, Marty Schottenheimer.  He has been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease.  Marty Schottenheimer is by far one of my favorite coaches (outside of Bill Walsh).  He was the coach when I became a Chiefs fan, and part of the reason I never actually root against the Chargers, (Shawne Merriman is the other).  I loved his spirit on the sidelines and love for his players, especially the relationship with Derrick Thomas. I really hate this disease which took the life of Pat Summit earlier this year. I truly wish Coach Schottenheimer and his family the best during this difficult time.

I'm somewhat recovered from last week's nightmarish edition of The Walking Dead, only to wake up to the nightmare that the Raiders, yeah, those Raiders are on the top of the pile in the AFC West. Ugh...I hate those guys. New England, sporting the best record in the league is atop the AFC East, while a Ben Roethlisberger-less Steelers team is 1st in the North with Houston first in the South.

Dallas is riding high in the NFC East, Minnesota in the North, Seattle in the West, and Atlanta is on top of that dumpster fire known as the NFC South. Atlanta-Dumpster...made me think of Glenn for a moment...pour one out for Glenn Rhee y'all...

Oh, by the way, Tony Gonzalez news, the former All-Pro tight end and future Hall-of-Famer, will join Charles Woodson as NFC legends captains at the 2017 Pro Bowl. Jerome Bettis and Ray Lewis will be the captains for the AFC. FYI, Tony G should have been with the AFC, but at least he will give me a reason to watch the Pro Bowl again.

Well, much like the carnage of last week's The Walking Dead, my picks took a major hit (no pun intended, although fitting).  I had a disastrous week with a 7-8 finish, bringing my record to 61-46 at the halfway point. My fantasy teams, you asked? Lucille Swings is currently holding it down in first place with a 5-2 record, while Lochted and Loaded is 4-2 and holding its own in third place (not bad for a raging hot mess of a team).  Fantasy Players: Miami, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, NY Giants, San Francisco, and Los Angeles all have byes this week.  Now, let's hope I can right the ship this week.

Dead Viewing: Season Seven, Episode 1: "The Day will Come When You Won't Be"

***WARNING***
***You may want to stop here.***
***There will be spoilers.***
***This is not a review. It is just my thoughts as I'm watching the show.***
***I update during commercials.***

Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe...
A child's nursery rhyme hasn't been made that creepy since A Nightmare on Elm Street's little jump rope ditty.  When we last saw our heroes, they were separated with Carol and Morgan on their way to what has to be the Kingdom, Father Gabriel in charge of the handful of people left in Alexandria, and the strongest of the warriors captured by Negan and his army. In an effort to get Maggie to the Hilltop Colony, our heroes, in their infinite wisdom, piled into an RV trying to get her help. Instead, they joined Glenn, Rosita, Michonne, and Daryl who had been captured by Dwight and Negan's Army.  Now, Rick, Carl, Michonne, Glenn, Maggie, Daryl, Aaron, Abraham, Eugene, Rosita, Sasha (did I miss anyone?) are on their knees at the mercy of Negan and his beloved, barbed-wired, baseball bat, Lucille. The season went dark as one of our beloved heroes died at Negan's hands, but which one?

After watching the preview trailer, I have concluded that it will be Abraham. Here's why. Rick has to watch, per Negan's instructions. Negan also said that they were to kill Carl if Rick got out of line. So, Rick and Carl are safe.  Daryl and Maggie are the walking wounded, so how would killing them make Negan look stronger and deadlier?  I'm eliminating all the women, because I have heard that he doesn't really do that to women. Plus, the bat is named after his wife. I don't think it will be Glenn, because even though he dies this way in the comics, the show likes to change things. For example, Andrea is still alive in the comics, and they have switched character outcomes before, like Dale, Carol, and Hershel. By the way, they already ticked people off with Glenn, so I don't think they want that again. Denise took Abraham's earlier death, plus Abraham looks like a real threat. He looks like he would rather die taking a chance slitting Negan's throat. He was also the one helping Rick carry Maggie. Who would be the better example? I'm left with Abraham who looks like the right hand man. Why does Negan have to be so evil and so handsome? PS...they had better not kill Daryl and Michonne.

Here we go, previously on The Walking Dead.  I'm not ready...Negan is such a butthole. Rick really has a pair, too.  He just saw somebody, A FRIEND, lose their head to a baseball bat, and he threatens to kill Negan. What is he going to do with Rick's hatchet?  Negan and Rick are now locked in the RV, and we are in a commercial break. I hate them so much right now...really. Y'all, they made us wait 7 months and now a commercial.

Rick and Negan in the RV. Negan has a pair, too. Leaving a hatchet within arms reach of Rick. This dude tore out a man's throat with his teeth. Negan is all bad with the gun, though. They are just screwing with us now...Flashbacks of each person through Rick's mind. He thinks he's breaking Rick right now. The Flashbacks are killing me..Negan threw the hatch out of the RV for Rick to fetch in a gang of walkers. It was on the roof, and they aren't going to let us know until the end of the show.

It was Abraham, who went down with a suck my nuts...Apropos. Adios, big read, I'm going to miss you and your one liners...Daryl just punched him.  Now, he is killing Glenn...Not Glenn, too!!! Why did they have to kill, two!!!??? Negan is going to die a horrible, horrible death at the hands of Rick Grimes. Negan has to die a horrible death at the hands of Rick Grimes...A horrible terrible death without weapons...I'm so angry right now...

Rick has officially lost it, and I hate to be Negan when he finds it...Rick just went to sleep. that alone says a lot about this dude. Negan is just rubbing salt. He is going to regret this in the near future. Why is he giving the hatchet back to Rick? I hope what is about to happen isn't what I think is going to happen...

What are they about to do to Carl? What is going on? He wants Rick to do what? What the what? Nah, man...Negan has gone to darn far...TOO FAR...Carol had to be crippled right now, cause she would have effed stuff up...He wanted him to chop off Carl's hand. What are they gonna do to Daryl?!!! Not Daryl, too!!! He is threatening to bring pieces of Daryl back? I hate that SOB..The last time someone threatened Carl like that, that dude had his throat bitten out...Rick is broken for the moment...just for the moment. Carol is on the bench...even with her crying breakdown, she is the real lethal weapon...

Abraham and Glenn are dead. Rick is broken. Carol and Morgan are MIA...I'm not in a good place right now. Carl is about to go full serial killer. Maggie is a strong woman telling them all to go back, and she is going to get to the Hilltop by herself. Rosita and Sasha making up. This is so sad...I'm crying now... Y'all...I'm sick watching them load up Glenn and Abraham...I'm sick...see y'all next week...

NFL Week Seven: Et tu?

Well those first six weeks flew by quickly. We are one week away from the half way point. Injuries are still plaguing many of the more popular athletes in the league.  This week, the Steelers learn they will be without Ben Roethlesberger after he tore his meniscus and had surgery.  Added to that list is the Packers Eddie Lacey and James Starks.  The Cowboys are dealing with their potential QB controversy with Dak Prescott performing well, and Tony Romo scheduled to return in the next few weeks. We should all be so lucky, right?

Then, there is Josh Brown kicker for the New York Giants. This guy is piece of work. He receives only a one game suspension for what he calls treating his wife "like a slave." He appears now to be a serial abuser of his ex-wife Molly, and it appears that the NFL and the Giants knew more than they let on. Sorry, I so little sympathy for this guy, who claims he felt like a "god" when with his wife. The NFL truly needs to weed all of these abusive guys in the league. Being able to play a sport, act, or sing well does not allow a person to treat women in this manner. It is unacceptable. I'm a firm believer in zero tolerance for domestic violence. ZERO.

If you missed it, my Chiefs did win last week beating the dreaded Raiders (Raider Hater). Four years ago, I finally saw my first Chiefs game, and it was against the New Orleans Saints at the Super Dome. This week, the Saints head to Arrowhead to take on my Chiefs. (One day, I'm going to make it to Arrowhead.) The Saints are my aunt's favorite team, and I actually took her to her first Saints game, which was also the first time I ever got to see Tony Gonzalez play live and in person, but I digress. She and I will be sitting on opposite ends of the sofa this week as we watch my Chiefs beat her Saints. Yes, I am pettty, but you know this, right? My Chiefs won the last meeting when Jamaal Charles scored a touchdown in overtime in the end zone in front of me. It was awesome!

Speaking of Tony Gonzalez, he did a really good job, plus they gave him more lines, on NCIS.  He will be returning in the role of Tony Francis this week as well.  Looking forward to more acting work from Tony G.

Fantasy fans: Remember Big Ben and Eddie Lacey are out, and the Cowboys and Panthers have a bye this week. Last week wasn't so great, but it wasn't so bad either as I finished the week with a 9-6 record.  Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Indianapolis left me shaking my head, too.  My record is 54-38 on the year, so let's see if I can stay on the positive side.

NFL Week 6: What Quarterback Controversy?

It's week 6, and as if the action on the field is not enough, we have to deal with the off the field issues around the NFL.  Like Cam Newton, is he damaging his team by riding his segway down a busy street with no helmet?  Will Tony Romo be able to take back his job from Dak Prescott? What is wrong with Brock Osweiller? SC Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg calls Colin Kaepernick's protests stupid, before apologizing for not really understanding what it was about. Oh, by the way, Kaep will be starting today with 49ers after restructuring his contract.

Back to the field, how about those Chargers and that win against the Broncos that no one, not even Philip Rivers saw coming?  How about those shockingly horrible uniforms the Broncos were wearing? That uniform however matched their sloppy play against a San Diego Chargers team that had been finding multiple ways to lose close games.

So who in the office pool had Minnesota as the last remaining undefeated team?  They lose Teddy Bridgewater before the season even began, and they lose Adrian Peterson in the second week of the season (so did I, because he was on my fantasy team). The only thing they haven't lost is a game, even with Sam Bradford at the helm. Is he who we thought  he was going to be?  It's still early...

My Chiefs are headed to Raider land this week to take on Jack Del Rio and the rest of that (be polite). The Chiefs can't afford to take this team lightly. The Raiders are 4-1 sitting atop of the AFC West after that mess of a performance turned in by the Broncos who dropped to second with his 4-2 record, while the Chiefs are sitting only 2 games above the basement dwelling Chargers.  The Chiefs went into their bye with an embarrassing nationally televised game against the Steelers.  I'm hoping the first Raider week of the year goes my Chiefs way.

I know, I know, Tom Brady won his first game back. I get it, but we all expected it, and it was Cleveland, so...Fantasy Fans, do not forget that Minnesota and Tampa Bay have byes this week.

For the fans who think that I don't still follow the Tony Gonzalez goings on:  Tony Gonzalez will be appearing on this week's episode of NCIS. Hopefully, he will have more than the one scene he has had in the previous two episodes. Also, Tony G. will be appearing on Spike TV's Lip Sync Battle later this season competing against Ray Lewis, yeah, that Ray Lewis.  He will also be in the new XXX movie with Vin Diesel which will premiere in January. So much for an easy retirement.

Last week was a great one for me. One: because the Chiefs were not on tv to embarrass me, two: my fantasy team Lucille Swings cleaned up without a kicker (4-1, y'all), and three: I went 11-3 last week with my picks bringing my season total to 45-32.

Until next week, "Unpredictability means what it means. I don't know how you define it. It is what it is."-Michael Keaton

NFL Week 5: You Think You Know

Those of you who are about my age remember that wonderful time in the NFL when Jim Mora was the coach of the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts.  Mora was a decent coach with .541 winning percentage, but much like Herman Edwards, Mora is mostly remembered for the soundbites that he provided after a Saints or a Colts lost. This is one of my particular favorites.

Last week was one of my worse weeks ever when it comes to making predictions. The only teams that seem to have their game plans in order are Denver (The last unbeaten team in the AFC), Minnesota, and Philly. Denver won the Super Bowl (Peyton had very little to do with that), so it is expected of them, but Minnesota and Philadelphia? WHAT?!

New England is no longer undefeated after that nightmarish game against...Buffalo? What the what, New England. The Colts lost in England to...wait for it...the Jaguars. Yes, those Jaguars and not the fancy car. The Falcons embarrassed the Panthers while Oakland and the Saints slipped past San Diego and Baltimore. The biggest embarrassment came later that evening on national television when the Pittsburgh Steelers took my Kansas City Chiefs to the woodshed. I have never been so glad that Fear the Walking Dead was on at the same time. There was less carnage on that show than at the game...RIP Chris Manawa, not that I'm really going to miss your annoying character...

Thank goodness, the Chiefs have had the week off so maybe they can figure out that it was not just the rain that led to that 43-14 debacle. Sheesh...to think people picked them as  a playoff team, and Tony G actually picked them to win this game. I mean, so did I, but man...stop embarrassing us on national tv. We all have to go back to work and defend that on Monday to laughing co-workers, especially Steelers fans.

My fantasy teams both lost last week and will probably lose this week because Lucille Swings is batting without Cam Newton (although Andy Dalton is a decent replacement) and no kicker, because I've dropped all the people I am willing to drop during the bye week, and I'm not taking a chance that someone will grab Cairo Santos before I can get him back. Lockte and Loaded is a nightmare, and I will soon refer to them as the team who shall not be named. Fantasy players the byes for this week are Kansas City, Jacksonville, Seattle, and New Orleans.

Last week, my picks were a garbage dump with a 5-10 finish. My record for the season is now at 34-29. I hope I will do far, far better this week. Who knows...

NFL Week Four: Say Hi to the Bye

I'm frustrated right now for a number of reasons. Our presidential election feels like the pre-match yell fest before a WWE title bout.  American Horror Story is horrible. I'm ticked off about the ending of Stranger Things (and having to wait until next year to see what happens next).  Last week, I lost Adrian Peterson for my fantasy team, and now I might lose Dez Bryant, although he has been that great.

The one silver lining, did you see my Chiefs last week?  Marcus Peters loves the interception. He already has 4 on the season including two against the Jets. Poor Ryan Fitzpatrick, six interceptions...yikes! Now, the Chiefs are prime time bound as they head to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers who are recovering from a 34-3 spanking at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Terrible Towels will be out in full force Sunday Night! Word on the street, however, is that Jamaal Charles will be back on the field Sunday Night.

It's our last week without Tom Brady, America. Enjoy it, not that the Pats have stumbled without him.

J.J. Watt is out for the season after having back surgery for the second time this year. Good luck J.J., see you next season. Hopefully, not against my Chiefs...

It is that period that many of the lovers of fantasy hate...BYE WEEKS start this week. First up: Philadelphia and Green Bay. Set your lineups accordingly, ladies and gents. My #1 fantasy team Lucille Swings is still undefeated at 3-0, whereas that dumpster fire that I forgot to draft, Lochte and Loaded is 1-1 with the worse lineup ever. Don't forget that the non-hyped London game between Indianapolis and Jacksonville

Last week, I messed up. Some of those games just...well, I went 8-8 bringing my total to 29-19. I can do better, I hope...

American Horror Story: Season Six...

I'm done with American Horror Story.  I'm done...

I was really going to Live Blog my thoughts about this season. Episode One was okay. I did the post as I watched. The second episode, well, I had computer problems, but as I watched, I really found myself not caring. I mean, not at all...

Episode 3 aired as I was recovering from allergies which knocked me out of work earlier in the day. I barely could lift my head off the pillow.  As I watched through barely opened eyes, I found myself truly not caring about American Horror Story. Not even Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, and Gaga could make me care. I hate this season. I hate all of the characters. I hate the fact that they all do the stupidest things. I hate that there seems to be horror movie cliches "as far as the eye can see." So, there are alleged connections between the seasons. Guess what? I truly do not care! I have lost interest in it.

That said. I will watch next week and probably the week after, why because I'm a creature of habit. Why because I hope that it will get better, and I am not rolling my eyes like I did when I started and stopped watching Scream Queens. FYI, I hate Scream Queens.  Sure, I know my favorite show The Walking Dead is not perfect either, but at least, I care about the characters. I really don't like anyone on this show. Sigh...maybe it will get better...we can only hope.
